Etxaburu cottage is an ideal destination that offers a wide variety of options and alternatives to enjoy NATURE and CULTURE during your stay.
You will have the opportunity to enjoy routes, both on foot and by mountain-bike, and you can rent bikes from the house itself and explore our surroundings along the Plazaola greenway.
A few kilometres away is the Mendukilo cave, which is now ready to receive visitors and, if you are a lover of zip-lines, don’t miss the Beigorri adventure park, located among the beautiful oak trees of Lekunberri. You can also enjoy guided horse-riding excursions in the Sierra de Aralar and donkey rides to learn about the shepherding culture in Berastegi.
The proximity of the Etxaburu’ cottage to the Cantabrian coast will allow you to practice water sports such as surfing on the famous beaches of Zarautz or Zurriola, the latter in Donostia-San Sebastián, one of the most charming cities in our territory, which together with Hondarribia are the most frequented by tourists in Guipuzcoa.
Following the coast route of Guipuzcoa, between the sea and the Basque mountains, you will find what has been declared a UNESCO World Geopark for its exceptional geological value, well worth a visit. Very close by are the vineyards that give their name to the Getariako Txakolina denomination of origin, where the numerous wineries that make up the Getariako Txakolina wine region are located.

EUROVELO ROUTES
EuroVelo is a network of 16 long-distance cycle routes connecting and linking the whole of Europe. It is part of the European Cycling Federation network. EuroVelo 1, the Atlantic Coast route, runs through Navarre from France to La Rioja, passing near the Etxaburu country house along the Vía Verde del Plazaola route.
The routes are designed for the use and enjoyment of both cycle tourists and walkers.
The Etxaburu rural house has been awarded the “Friend of EuroVelo 1” diploma by the EuroVelo Coordination Centre in Spain.
On the initiative of TrailGazers, of the European programme Interreg Atlantic Area, the complete geolocation of the Plazaola Greenway is available in Google Street View: Lekunberri (Kantina).
